America's First All-Volunteer, Collectively-Owned Game Store

On the surface, Worlds Apart is just like any other game store. We've got a full selection of gaming books, board games, card games, and dice. We run numerous events including Magic tournaments, board game nights, and RPGs, most of which are free to attend.
What makes Worlds Apart unique is that it is run by the Pioneer Valley Gamer Collective, a non-profit organization whose mission is to use games to make the world a better place. First, they have built Worlds Apart as a space for the use of the gaming community to gather, game, and hang out. Additionally, they will work to do outreach with other organizations to use games to help with everything from non-profit fundraising to education to community development.

Kiernan Gulick-Sherrill, General Manager
By day, Kiernan serves as a mild mannered computer repair technician. By night, Kiernan is the General Manager. As General Manager, Kiernan generally manages. He is in charge of promotions, events, public image, and Internet presence.
Kiernan coordinated register coverage at the old Phoenix Games before being tapped to take on the expanded duties of Membership Coordinator at Worlds Apart. Later he was elected to the position of General Manager.

 

 

 

Desmond Duval, Membership Coordinator
Des is the Membership Coordinator. He coordinates volunteers, manages the schedule, as well as the people who cover the register. He also recruits new members and maintains membership records.
Born from a test tube hooked up to a 14.4k modem, and raised by a nomadic tribe of Korean super gamers, he was bred to fearlessly sift through the savage depths of the internet.
